Is experiencing an identity crisis inevitable for a person exposed to different cultures?
My abstract painting focuses on the intertwined cultures of East and West, taking up this contemporary social theme.
The solitary face metamorphoses into two faces from unlike cultures closely together as much as both of them intimately relate to their environmental colours. The rectangles as stereotyped boxes seem defeated as they merge into a harmonious pattern of interacting hues.
With vivid colours and bold lines, I attempt to turn the confrontational nature of my subject into an optimistic outlook.
